Voke had just been posted to my unit at work and was going to be working in my team. He had a cool and calm demeanor that could almost be interpreted as snobbish but we eventually got along. In time, we became office allies; we later discovered we had several mutual friends and once in a while would coincidentally have the same social events. Our friendship grew stronger to the extent I told him all about me and my ‘man issues’ and him about his ‘women issues’ and as good friends yea, he would give me good advice and vice versa.
The team at work used to say he liked me a lot but I believed it was just the regular way peeps get fond of me so easily…. (I should have known). After he left the company things started getting a little cosier between us. We started hanging out a lot more than we used to and doing stuff together and that was it!!
Voke's Story
One of the first things I noticed when I walked into Kenny’s unit at work was that she was quite pretty. I have always had a rule not to get involved with anyone in my workplace. Little did I know that the rule would be broken. We didn’t immediately hit it off as friends even though we were in the same team, at first I kept to myself and just observed. I noticed that she was hyperactive and playful with an amiable persona that one can't help but like and as time went on we become buddies.
They say you don't know what you got till its gone. I left DB and realized the role Kenny had played in my life over time; she had become my best friend, one I wanted to talk to and hear from throughout my day and that was it!!
